I take it that you had a good time?

I have one little story for you, I won't be able to tell it like it was but I'll have a go......

Me and two friends went to the drag's, one of the guys has never seen a Top Fuel car run before, so after seeing the De Filippo Top Fuel run I explained how they strip down and rebuild the motor between runs, and then asked if he wanted to see the crew it action, so off we went, we were standing about 12feet from the header pipes directly inline with them. After watching the crew for approx 50 mins it was time to fire it up, The first little run is at an idle which is loud enough so you can't hear yourself scream. They did this and all was fine then the crew put on gas masks and ear muff's. They started it up and after about 10seconds I Tried to tell my friend that they were about to hit the gas, I yelled and used hand signals, Anyway the one of the crew pumped the gas there was an enormous rush of hot burning air and my eyes were watering and I got hit in the side, I turned to see what it was and my friend was off running. I didn't move while the engine was running, When it stopped I turned around to see about 30 people laughing at my mate. He absolutely shit his pants when they pumped the gas. That was the most fun I have had for a long time. I then told my friend he is not a Top Fuel Virgin anymore.

I can't believe that he was in no way suspicious that something like that was bound to happen.

Yeah, It's quite sad I think He is very quite at work today, But has asked to go see them again, So in Feb next year(i think) We will head off the The Nationals in NSW for 3 days of racing, great stuff.
