I don't know about other markets but for cars that are made for the UK market they need to improve their quality control before they start splashing money out on buying up other marques.
I appreciate that to stand still in business is effectively to go backwards but Renault need to ensure that what they've already got is up to scratch.

Would you be more inclined to buy a jag off ford, or renault?
I'd say neither. Ford make rubbish designs that appeal to nobody and Renault couldn't build a reliable car if they hired toyota to do it for them.
What Jaguar needs is someone like the audi group or a jap firm to improve them and start designing cars that appeal to people.
