I prefer 80's supercars. Sure, they don't have all the techo stuff on them, but thats what makes them great IMO. They are just engine, chassis and gearbox. Pure driving pleasure.

Old School is the New School. 'nuff said

I honestly don't know which I prefer, I know exactly what you're getting at Scream'n. I love things like Caterhams, Ferrari F40's etc, one of my dream cars would be a Shelby Cobra 350, but on the other hand I'd love a Porsche GT or a Zonda. I'd like something which demands, seat of the pants control but I'd also like something which you can't really make a balls of no matter how tired or 'can't be arsed' you're feeling.

Time for me to face facts I suppose - I just want my cake and eat it.
Mclaren_Fanatic
Bit of both. Old school for their simplicity and newer cars for their technology?! Contradiction?

Thats the whole point, whats a supercar if it doesn't scare the living shit out of you??? I kind of get what you mean though.

I'm a fan of both really... I prefer the styling of the newer supercars though coz I'm a girl lmao

Speaking of supercars... what about that dolt Prince Naseem totalling his mc merc and nearly killing some poor other guy in the process plthumbsdown.gif dry.gif

The reason why Supercars are so sophisticated these days is so that the only people that can buy them can drive them!

Never heard of him

I think you'd have to be either British or Yemeni (or I think thats where his family are originally from) to know who he is... he is a former boxing champion, quite well known in the UK ... ugly little fcuker too mf_laughbounce2.gif

Difficult to say - I think Jeremy got it about right on Top Gear thumbs.gif

Oh and the Enzo 2 seconds faster than the McLaren mf_laughbounce2.gif mf_laughbounce2.gif mf_laughbounce2.gif

Well, the McLaren is just a mercedes that has been modified by McLaren
(I assume you mean the Mercedes McLaren on the test track. Not the McLaren F1, because that was faster in a straight line than the F40 and the Enzo) Which is the whole point.

Technology rules for me !!

So give me the latest batch of supercars any day...

I don't see the point of having less - When you can have more...

More power, more luxury, more safety, more looks, more speed, more acceleration etc - I'll take it all thank's !!

Cheers G thumbs.gif

Around corners maybe, but the McLaren F1 is still faster in a straight line than any other supercar to date.

I think the coolness of old supercars is lost on todays safety orientated supercars.

Oh I wasn't aware that that thing had broken the production car record.
My bad.

Still, the McLaren record lasted 12 years. Quite an achievement given the quality of supercar that come out in that time.
