Just heard at work that Greg Murphy and Paul Weel will be driving for new team Super Cheap Auto this year. Super Cheap has taken over from the PWR Racing Holden team.

And the Bathurst 1000 will now be called the 'Super Cheap Auto 1000' as Super Cheap has bought the sponser rights to the race.

I think That PWR has just gained Supercheap as a sponsor, I don't think they bought the team.

It makes sense for them to have Murphy as well since they are expanding into NZ, and Murphy is the perfect spokesperson for them... bet they paid a pretty large sum to secure him though.

Pfft still a bloody Holden though isnt it puke.gif Beu2.gif

Of course, why bother targeting ford fans?? They're not a parts yard, they're an accessory retailer.

Super Cheap and PWR joined forces or something but the PWR name is gone. It's called Super Cheap Auto Racing now. I've seen the new livery too

Yeah, they must have paid alot for Bathurst sponsorship too

Oh yep, I get it now. I heard they paid more than 10mil for the naming rights to the Bathurst 1000... only a rumour mind you.

Wouldn't suprise me. It would've cost a bundle

Getting your name across the TV screens of 27 countries is no mean feat, especially when half the foriegn audience is in china. A perfect opportunity.

Also, incase you didn't know, Supercheap used to sponsor a one car Ford operation called Steve Ellery racing, but they didn't get many good results so supercheap dumped them. Good job.

They currently sponsor Kane Scott in some form of V8 Racing

NZ V8 touring cars. He doesn't deserve thier money, he's one of the dirtiest racers I've ever seen, and a spoiled brat who's had things his way for too long.

He came 8th in that one and won the other 2
Scream'n_Demon
I see. It must have been close then, if he came 8th. In the round before last, Wade Henshaw won all three, two off pole and one off 10th in the reverse grid. Now thats good driving.
