Alex Zanardi will be back in his first race in the Uk since his accident in which he lost both his legs!!!
He will be driving at Donnigton Park on June 27 in the FIA European Touring Car Championship in his modified BMW 320i.

The 37 year old Italian returns to competitive racing in the UK marking another stage in his remarkable recovery from a horrific 200mph crash at the German Lausitzring cuicuit on September 15th 2001 when he tragically lost both of his legs . Even with immediate help of the emergency crew and Doctor Zanardi was not expected to live let alone return to racing!
But aftergoing a long and painful rehabilitation process involving many operations Zanardi has signed to race in this year`s ETCC.
To enable Zanardi to drive the BMW320i in spite of his handicap BMW motorsport has developed a conversion package, with most of hte contorls hand operated ,which has been approved by the FIA.
